A Place to Wine, A Place to Dine
The Recess Room is a restaurant started by five friends who met during a pickup game of handball during school recess on a Fountain Valley playground. The Recess Room is their childhood dream come to life, bringing their take on modern American tapas and craft cocktails to their hometown of Fountain Valley. They hope to serve the community again in their full capacity when the time is right.
Recess Room has implemented all the Dine In Guidelines provided by and in line with CDC, including:
- Gloves and masks for all employees
- Sanitizer stations available throughout the restaurant
- UV light
- Staff thoroughly trained
- Social distancing signage and floor decals
- 6 feet social distancing in dining and bar area
- All surfaces wiped down immediately after use
- Entire restaurant was cleaned and disinfected prior to opening
- Charcoal filters for HVAC
- Swapped out linen for disposable napkins

Tuesday – Thursday: 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Friday – Saturday: 5:00 pm – 12:00 am
Sunday: 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm
