Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa Names New Manager

Pacific Hospitality Group, LLC (PHG),has announced that Shashi Poudyal has been appointed general manager of the AAA Four-Diamond Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa, located in La Jolla, California. Poudyal brings more than 25 years of hospitality-industry experience to his role as general manager having most recently served as general manager of The DoubleTree by Hilton Santa Ana, where he started in 2012.

Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa names new manager Poudyal, who will be responsible for overseeing the general operations of the 210-room hotel, as well as the three restaurants and lounges, the 8,000-square-foot Spa at Estancia, and Estancia’s premier conference and learning facility, which encompasses 26,000 square feet. Poudyal’s career has been highlighted by noteworthy accomplishments including being named “General Manager of the Year” and “Revenue Manager of Year” at the upscale DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Santa Monica. His professional experience includes positions at Westin, Oklahoma City, with 500 rooms and 35,000 square feet of meeting space, DoubleTree by Hilton Modesto with 260 rooms and a 55,000-square-foot convention center, DoubleTree by Hilton Santa Monica with 260 suites and office complex, and Wyndham Hotel Fullerton/Anaheim with 295 rooms, and 14, 000 square feet of meeting space.

And there are fun, non-traditional food and beverage programs, such as our private-label Jack Daniels single barrel whiskey and Herradura Tequila tastings in our Trinitas Wine Cellar. As we enter our 10 year anniversary Estancia has an exciting future ahead, and I’m looking forward to being a part of it.”

Poudyal holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Trichandra College, Kathmandu, Nepal and received a certificate in hotel management from UCLA. He is also a Certified Hotel Administrator. Poudyal was a member of the Culver City Rotary Club for more than four years where he was involved in various community services including fundraising and walking for breast cancer research. He has also been involved in fundraising campaigns for Relay for Life, Teach Kids to Care, Make a Wish Foundation, and various other charities.
