Cha Cha’s Latin Kitchen in Brea Downtown raised $15,000 from dedicating proceeds from their 7th Anniversary Party and the sales of a special margarita that was available throughout the month of October for an integral team member, Jaime Palomar. Jaime was recently diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma, a type of Kidney cancer, and upon learning this, the owners and entire staff wanted to show their support.

The team at Cha Cha’s Latin Kitchen worked tirelessly throughout the month of October to promote a special margarita in Jaime’s honor. “The El Palomar” which featured Asombroso Blanco 100% blue agave tequila, fresh serrano chili, cointreau, freshly squeezed lime juice and a float of hibiscus. The staff’s unconditional passion around the El Palomar margarita has resulted in over one thousand sold in the last month. The proceeds of the margarita coupled with the proceeds from the anniversary event totaled nearly $15,000, which will go towards helping Jaime’s surgery.

“It was truly incredible to see how our staff, management, purveyors and the local community, rallied behind Jaime and it makes me so proud that we have such a great team that helps take care of each other,” exclaimed owner, Don Myers. “Jaime has influenced Cha Cha’s in so many ways since he joined us four years ago and the turnout to our event made that very obvious.”

Since opening its doors in 2009, Cha Cha’s Latin Kitchen has hosted numerous fundraising events with an emphasis on helping the local community. Recipients of this generosity included The Mobile Closet, a local charity that provides clothing and blankets to families in need, a local mother with stage-three breast cancer, a beloved bartender who is now cancer free, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, a nonprofit benefiting local hungry families.
