Pacific Hideaway, a locals’ favorite restaurant, located at the Kimpton Shorebreak Huntington Beach Resort, announced today the new hire of Wyatt Lash as Executive Chef. In his new role, Lash will be responsible for culinary direction, menu development and working closely with the kitchen staff on curating innovative coastal recipes.
With over 12 years of experience, Lash brings a unique take on menu creation and a strong leadership presence to the restaurant team. Prior to Pacific Hideaway, Lash served as Executive Chef at The Commoner, inside the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh, where he successfully opened the restaurant in 2015 and incorporated twists on a classic gastro-pub menu that highlighted products from surrounding farms and areas. Prior to that, Lash spent over 8 years serving as an Executive Chef at The Whip Tavern.
“Pacific Hideaway is known for its unique approach to both cocktails and cuisine,” said Blake Mathias, Director of Food and Beverage at Shorebreak Resort. “With Chef Wyatt joining the team and leading our culinary division, Pacific Hideaway looks to dive even deeper into fresh ingredients, local inspirations and a fully scratch kitchen that will extend to our Banquets and In-Room Dining. Chef Wyatt left an everlasting fingerprint at The Commoner, developing the hottest restaurant in Pittsburgh. Since his arrival, Chef Wyatt has curated some incredible new menu items that are savory, eye-catching and fresh. I mean, he even makes his own bread in house! We are extremely excited to have Chef Wyatt join us in our hidden gem, though I have a feeling we won’t be as hidden after his menu debuts.”
“I love the East Coast, it’s home; but when you have an opportunity to play with SoCal ingredients and practically cook on the beach, I mean, who could resist,” said Lash. “Simply put, I flat out love to cook. I’m always looking for new and fun flavors to elevate the next menu item. Pacific Hideaway’s flavor realm stretches all over the Pacific Ocean allowing me to try things that have never been presented at the restaurant before. I am stoked to work closely with the existing Pacific Hideaway team and continue to elevate our product throughout the Shorebreak Resort and Huntington Beach community.”
When he’s not busy making delicious, decadent dishes in the kitchen, Lash can be found rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles every football Sunday. Not football season? Lash is surely hiking one of the local trails or checking out what other local restaurants have to offer.
