Alegria Gets Facelift & New Image After 20 Years

RestaurateursAdrian Amosa and Miguel Baeza, owners of such Pine Avenue restaurants as Gaucho Grill, Agaves Kitchen & Tequila and Sevilla are about to unveil a new look for their newest establishment, Alegria Cocina Latina, a Pine Avenue restaurant and nightspot with a menu and drink listing inspired by the cuisine of Latin America and Spain. The 20-year-old Alegria, which means “happiness,” now boasts a more festive atmosphere with a number of updated features.

Amosa said that to breathe new life into the restaurant, he incorporated new lighting with a massive chandelier as the centerpiece of the bar; new furnishings including all chairs, tables and banquettes; new fabrics and updated paint; reclaimed wood walls in the front dining space and outer patio with some of the planks painted in festive colors; renovated back patio space with a wall of succulent plants adding natural intimacy; and an upgraded sound system to accentuate the live performances of flamenco guitar music and Karaoke on Wednesdays.

Amosa is widely considered the kingpin of the vibrant Latin-dining scene in Long Beach.With the recent acquisition ofAlegria, which recently underwent a remodel and offers a new menu, the busy restaurateur now operates 3 bustling restaurants on Pine Avenue including Gaucho Grill and Agaves Kitchen and Tequila.
