The popular vegan cooking show New Day New Chef returns to Amazon’s Prime Video for a special series showcasing Support and Feed, a nonprofit organization helping those in need during the COVID-19 crisis and beyond.
New Day New Chef: Support and Feed Edition focuses on the organization’s work supplying food to children’s charities, homeless and domestic abuse shelters, food banks, family, and senior centers by supporting vegan restaurants in Los Angeles, New York, and Philadelphia. Filmed largely with robotic cameras during the COVID-19 outbreak, the show follows Maggie Baird, (actress, screenwriter, vegan, and mother of musicians Billie Eilish and Finneas, who are also vegan) on her journey to create Support and Feed.
“New Day New Chef bringing these chefs and celebrities together is a great way to focus on these wonderful restaurants, and the nourishing and delicious food they are providing to those in need through Support and Feed,” said Baird. “A plant-based diet is so important for the health of our communities and our planet. I hope this show and these chefs will inspire people because there is no better day to start than today.”
Hosted by celebrated journalist Jane Velez-Mitchell, special guest appearances include Billie Eilish, Finneas, Downton Abbey’s Lesley Nicol, the original “Bye Felicia” Angela Means-Kaaya, supermodel Joanna Krupa, influencer Kyle Krieger, Dynasty’s Elaine Hendrix, CSI’s Jorja Fox, Lost’s Emilie de Ravin, and American Idol announcer Mark Thompson.
With a mix of sit-down interviews and insight into their daily operations, this eight-episode season also features fun-filled recipes from L.A.’s finest vegan chefs, including Sage Bistro’s Mollie Engelhart, SunCafe’s Ron Russell, and Pura Vita’s Tara Punzone – all partnering restauranteurs with Support and Feed.
Two episodes are now available to stream on Prime Video, with more released weekly.
New Day New Chef: Support and Feed Edition is produced by Inspired. and the nonprofit 501c3 JaneUnChained News Network, and directed by Emmy Award winner Eamonn McCrystal.
