Mama’s on 39 has donated more than $15,000 to local schools, charities and youth sports organizations.
Through its “Give Back Days” program, Mama’s on 39 donates back 30 percent of the designated proceeds when groups dine at the eatery on the corner of Beach Boulevard and Atlanta Avenue. Most recently, Mama’s raised enough money for Sts Simon & Jude School to help fund three new leaders for the school’s leadership camp. Truxaw said giving back to the community is something businesses “should really do.”
“The community of Huntington Beach is our family, and it’s our responsibility to support it in any way we can … just as this community continues to support us,” he said.
