The new Mars Chocolate North America manufacturing plant in Topeka is scheduled to open later this year. In October, approximately 50 Mars associates participated in the Mars Volunteer Program (MVP) by volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Topeka to build a home, as part of M&M’S effort to M’Prove America.’ The M’Prove America’ program is designed to fund the construction of Habitat for Humanity homes across the country in 2013, as well as encourage fans to join the cause via the brand’s Facebook page. On Oct. 16, the company also presented a check to Downtown Topeka, Inc. for its Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative.
