Award-winning Chef Opens Restaurant Every Friday As A “Drive Up” To Pass Out Meals To Fullerton Community

4 pm to 7 pm every Friday starting March 27th.

Khan Saab Desi Craft Kitchen in downtown Fullerton will be passing out FREE hot meals and bags of rice & lentils to neighbors and the local community every Friday, beginning this week. After temporarily closing the restaurant’s doors as a result of COVID, Team Khan Saab is launching this program to help neighbors in need, especially those 65 and older, those unemployed as a result of Coronavirus-related layoffs, and single parents during these uncertain times when food supplies are scarce. In an effort to practice healthy social distancing, those seeking a meal are encouraged to pull in to the parking garage attached to the restaurant and a staff member will deliver the meals and bags of rice & lentils to your car window. Team Khan Saab is launching this program every Friday beginning Friday, March 27 from 4 pm – 7 pm and plans to increase the number of meals served weekly to support the demand.

“Two months ago I opened Khan Saab to fulfill my lifelong dream of creating a restaurant to serve the community.  While the restaurant is closed for the time being, my calling to serve is alive and well. During this uncertain and challenging time for all of us, I want to do what I can to help reassure the community that they are not alone, and feel a sense of togetherness during a time of social distancing.” – Chef Imran “Ali” Mookhi
